Default TPS PROBLEM??

I have an 89 crx si, just had some work done on the head and now that im putting it back together the idle is all screwed up.

Ive tried resetting the ECU a few times and it works when the TPS is unplugged but when i plug in the TPS it revs straight to 2500. Also the check engine light is on, not sure what from.

Any help is much appreciated.

Try using a Volt meter and check what the Tps is doing it should read 0-4.5/5v depending on position. Sounds like it is sticking and not going to .01 or whatever

TPS 0.45v to 0.5v for CLOSED throttle and 4.5v to 5v for Full Throttle.

check ALL your vacuum connections as well.

Yes i adjusted the idle screw and i checked the throttle cable a few times neither of those seem to be the problem.

The TPS has a crack on the black part of the plug could this be the problem?

FITV is fast idle thermal valve, IACV is idle air control valve

about the crack on the TPS, i don't think the crack should be the problem, but do look into it just in case
