??? Compressor surge & Boost below 7psi on TiAL BOV during normal driving...????
I will be running the TiAL BOV (7psi spring) and 38mm WG (.6bar) on my custom turbo setup. Knowing that the BOV is not adjustable (w/the exception of spring replacement), would I experience compressor surge when shifting at boost levels below 7psi? This would seem logical due to not enough boost pressure below the spring to release the pressure; therefore, the pressure would travel back toward the compressor. However, would this be enough pressure to be concerned about? Thanks in advance.

you should be fine with low boost setup on 7psi spring nothing to be concerned about the more use the tial gets the ebtter the valve starts to work
compressor "surge" is a WOT occurance. what you have is a bit of compressor backpedaling. that is normal for light boost applications. you wont hurt anything
i noticed that with the tial, when i intsall em they tend to backpeddle, but usually after a week my customers tell me the bov sounds great ! ... normal im guessing?
Thanks everyone. This is exactly what I wanted to know. Sorry for the misnomer ("surge" vs. "backpedaling"), but you learn something new every day.
