Car is an EM1 w/ JRSC. Took it to the strip and ran a best time of 13.7@103, my average trap that day was 102mph and high 13s for the most part. My worst run that day was a 14.2@101mph (keep note of this). Took it again last Wednesday and my best run was a 14.3@98.6, average trap that night was 98mph and couldnt break out of 14s.
Now I know this was done on 2 different days, 2 different conditions. But I want to analyze what happened a lil more... maybe you guys can shed some light.
The main difference modification wise between the 2 runs is that, on the 14.3 run my car had A/C system reinstalled and no CF hood (stock hood). Question is, would the A/C compressor and belt cause that much parasitic drag? Now the AC was off during the run, lol
Also no CF hood. I don't think weight savings from a hood will effect the time and trap that much...
Main mods are JRSC and Hondata Engine Management, dyno tuned. Same boost on both sample runs. Same tires and tire pressure on both runs.
Here are the timeslips (no digicam on-hand, sorry):
First timeslip:
(CF hood installed & no A/C, worst run that day)
Conditions: cold and light wind
Reaction: .940
60ft.: 2.334
I2: 6.189
I3: ---
I4: 11.978
ET: 14.229
MPH: 101.327
Second timeslip:
(Stock hood installed w/ A/C, best run that night)
Conditions: colder and light wind
Reaction: .484
60ft.: 2.203
I2: 6.140
I3: 9.325
I4: 12.047
ET: 14.355
MPH: 98.615
Trapspeed is a good indicator of how much hp a car makes, correct? That night my average speed was apprx. 4mph slower. I was out of the hole faster on the 14.3 run than the 14.1, but still only manage 98mph trapspeed. Something happened between the 2 times I went to the track. I somehow lost hp. I think this is because of the A/C being reinstalled. I'm thinking of just removing the belt next time going to the track. Anyone shed some light on what they think based on the comparison between the 2 timeslips? Could be my driving too
Long post I know, but that's it, for now

i dont think you have anything to worry about. same thing happened to me. i ran a best trap speed of 103 mph with open header removed the entire exhaust system removed rear seats, passenger seat, and rear bumper. with full exhaust, full interior, a 3 1/2 ton jack with slicks in the back seat i trapped at 98 mph. i still hit the same times but with lower trap speed.
