Default Tial wastegate won't hold at 6psi please help....

It wont hold boost, it just keeps going past 6psi....my spring is a 6psi spring..it spikes to when i shift......any ideas...the o ring is in and everythign appears sealed....when idling its closed cuz the dump isnt spitting out any air....is my vac lines set up wrong or what would this be??!?! ideas please....oh this is on a h22a4


I have the vac line hooked into the side and then it goes straight into the upper intake mani.....it hooks to a vac port right next to the TB....... then the boost gauge T's off of that...... my other vac line for the bov hooks on back more on the back part of the im.....

Tap and thread in a 1/4" hose barb from home depot or something into your charge pipe as close as you can to your wastegate and hook the line from the side of the wastegate to that. I had the same problem when I first put my kit on with a Tial 38mm.

There should a hose barb on the compressor housing of the turbo. Run a hose from there to your wastgate barb. That is where it's supposed to go, if there isn't a barb there should a place where you can put one (close to the outlet of the compressor). You want to have it as close to the compressor as possible. Make sure to use a screw-type metal hose clamp on the turbo side of the hose or it will blow off. On the wastegate side you can get away with a zip tie.

Did it...screwd in npt fitting to turbo, hose clamped it, and shortend the line...and it stuck at 6 all the way through with no spikes or creep....THANKS GUYS

does anyone have pics? I'm a newb at this and could use some help since I'm also having the same problem. I also have a electronic boost controller if that makes any difference.
