is this too big for my turbo upgrade past my greddy kit??
ok, I've got a .63/.60 (or did I get that backwards oh well) T3 from an 84 datzun 280z turbo car that my brother got in a large lot of parts from an old nissan repair shop that went out of business. It's brand new in the box and I know how to clock them too so that's not a problem. It's oil-cooled only.
here's my question:
if I took off my TD04H-16G turbo and tossed this on to run @ 8psi would it be too inefficient until I beefed up the lower end to turn up the boost more??
or will it be too big outright for my engine??
thanks guys!

Where did you get the specs for your turbo from??? I bought a oil cooled T3 from a Z31 (1984-1989 300zx I believe). I checked over at 300zxclub.com and z31.org and no one knew the damn turo specs. I wanna know if this thing is too big for my engine too. Free bump
they were right there on the housings...
.63 a/r on compressor housing and .60 a/r on the exhaust housing
(or I could have them backwards since I haven't looked at the thing in about 2 months).

Its not really a big turbo but if the exhaust side is .63 it might take a little while to spool. It wont bolt up to your greddy manifold either so your gonna need to get a new mani or some kind of adapter plate. Give it a shot but with a d series you may be better off with at .48 exhaust housing.

It will spool pretty slow (my t3 .48 spools @ 4k-4.5k), but it won't be "inefficient" at 8psi. It will work fine. When you build, it will be killer.
Good Luck!
