anti-freeze leak near Crank Pulluy??????HELP!!!!!!!
heres my problem, i just got my motor back from a local shop that does rebuilts, i dropped the motor in the car, started it and i found an ant-freeze leak near the crank pulley towards the bottom near the oil pan, now it doesnt seem to be leaking from the pulley due to the fact that its dry, i really cant see much cause the alternator is in the way. now my question is what are the symptoms of a dying water pump?? the one thats on their has about 30,000 miles on it, and my second question is where else can it be leaking from?? from what i can see there arnt any hoses near the alternator, and i cant see any leaks from the top of the water pump. PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!!!!
P.S its a B18c

the water pump has a passage on it that when they go bad they look. but there is a pipe that goes from the t-stat to the water pump. it runnes coolant threw it. you can take this pipe out from behind the water pump. it has a o-ring that seals it in place. i have never seen them go bad. but if it was removed during the rebuild and then placed with the same o-ring then it is possible. but there is really no reason to remove this during a rebuild.
Water pumps have bleed holes, to relieve pressure. A small amount of "weeping" coolant from the the bleed holes is normal. How much of leak are we talking about?
Maybe you just need a new gasket. 30k isn't enough to burn a honda water pump,
usually. Maybe they just installed it wrong.
PS what a lousy shop, not to replace a water pump with a rebuild

yea, they replaced the timing belt but not the pump, also its leraking non stop, with the car on or off, it still leaks, is sounds like im gonna have to take the water pump out and figure out whats wrong, i really cant tell unless i take it out, or can i???

Tsk, tsk,tsk,
Always, always replace the pump with the timing belt and vice-versa.
they're only $40-$50 each. Not worth the aggravation of tearing it apart a second time, to save $50.
I just replaced a water pump with 50k. worked fine, looked fine. replaced it anyway. I would've shot myself if it went after I put the car back together.
