Default starting in the cold

1995 gsr isnt starting since it got cold. I replaced the battery and that didnt help. Sometimes it just clicks, sometimes I can hear the starter spin without engaging the flywheel. A few times it has caught and started. Are the solenoid and starter separate? Should I try to replace that? What should I try? Connections or anything, or should I just buy a used starter? thanks. Im screwed and its been -30 all week.

sounds like a sticking starter. Try tapping it a few times while someone turns the key. Be careful by the way

The cold will do a lot of sh*t to your car like B18c2 said try tapping it. If your battery is left out over night in that kind of temp you will loose most of the power in your battery, this may sound extreme but try taking your battery in at night.
