Emmisions and engine management
i have to do a E-check in april. i think i'm just going to take everything off and put it back to stock, then put it all back on after i get it checked

What mods do you have on the car now? The stock ECU can handle most bolt ons. Or else, an AFC type fuel controller is still "legal", since it's a piggyback.
But since you're OBDII, they'll just plug into the connector and check for CEL's. If you switch to OBDI, you'll lose that OBDII connection...so they'll most likely just give you a tailpipe sniffer test.
