removing immobilzers

What does that do?</TD></TR></TABLE>
There's 1 downside & 1 goodside.
Down side:
you will have a constant check engine light on whatever OBD2 vehicle you use the ecu in, but it will NOT be in limp mode.
Good side:
The ecu will work in any OBD2b vehicle you use it in vs. NOT working at all in any vehicle (except for the one it originally came in) when the IMM is intact.
Side note: When using a 00-01 integra ecu w/removed immobilizer in a civic, pinout A16 needs to be moved to A15 or else the car won't start.
Also...
When the IMM is removed, there's a slight trick you need to do when starting the vehicle. Turn the cars ignition on 2 clicks, wait for the fuel pump to "humm" on then off, then turn the key a 3rd click turning the car on. If you try and start the car without doing it this way, the car may not start up right away, it'll just crank & crank & crank.

IMM removal has absolutely nothing to do with vehicle theft. Unbolting the ECU, popping the cover, and sidecuttering out the IMM board at 4am when it's pitch black sounds pretty clumsy and stupid to me.
Cheap OBD jumper harnesses and freeware ECU tuners, however, definitely contribute to vehicle theft. Lynch pgmfi.org! Down with boomslang.com!
While we're at it, time to start pogroms against Jerr-Dan for performing roll-back conversions on heavy duty pickups, and witchhunts among your local wrecker services.
