How to get drum off?
Alright, maybe I'm an idiot, but I'm trying to replace the shoes on my family's spare car ('85 Accord SE-i) and I cannot get the ******' drums off.
All I see on the backing plate is the parking brake cable, the brake line, and the two bolts that hold the wheel cylinder in. Is there an adjuster of some sort to back the shoes out a little? I have a feeling they're holding the drum in. Would appreciate any help - car is in the garage on jackstands, displacing my mom's car, lol.

Take a big hammer and bang on the drum as hard as you can as many times as it takes until it loosens enough to slip it off. Pay attention not to hit the wheel studs.

Yep, I figured it out. If you look on the backing plate near the brake line, there's a hole - I used a flashlight and a dentist's mirror to look in.
Got a screwdriver in and moved the adjuster down enough to clearance the shoes and drum. First side took about four hours, second took half an hour.
Thanks people!

Not on that car.

Well, I learned something new today. I'm glad you were able to figure it out.
