Default trouble at 2500rpm!!

The car starts up idles perfect! When i snap the throttle it wants to die and back fires at 2500rpm! I checked grounds there perfect! Any one else have this problem! Also when it hits 2500rpm the check engine light turns on for a second and then shuts off! It dosnt throw a CEL so i dont know if there is a short to the CEL or it throws a code for a second and then it sees everything normal! I need your help i am going to check voltage on all the sensors and see if there correct and then i will go from there!

What year/model/engine/etc?

If the ECU lights the CEL even briefly, it should store a code.

Have you done any work to the car recently that might be causing this? Did it run normally and then one day just do this?

Is it a regular Si motor that you put in?

in neutral only! Havent taken it out on the road so really i dont know if it does it driving! The motor came out of the same year hatch(90) I recieved it from a friend who did a swap for a kid!

I am going home today and i am gonna check some things out! Pull exhaust maybe its clogged! Also do you think valves could be a problem? If they're not within spec?

it sounds like an ignition problem. what is the condition of the ignition parts? does the tach jump around when this is happening?

do you have a frayed spark plug wire? if so is the clutch cable hitting it? if so then you're grounding out one of your sparks.
