If you are tracking your S2000 in hot climates, oil temps of over 290 Fahrenheit can be reached. A good oil cooler like a 25 row Mocal can bring down temps to the 210 range without much loss in oil pressure. 10an or 12an lines are recommended.

I'd say for each application, an oil guage is necessary before anything is done. You'll need one anyway, install it first, see what your temps are at, then go from there. I recommend installing the temp sensor from the pan.

Yes, a 60 degree day is cool in 50% humidity, but running the car in 30 minute sessions at these conditions fairly hard would yield an average temp of 217F, no more. I have yet to get oil temp readings in hot 100F+ weather. Some factors that may have an affect on oil temps are ride height, underbody aerodynamics/diffusers, and how hard you drive your car. I would install the oil cooler as the last thing.

Are even sure of the stock oil pump specs ?

it's possible that an oil cooler could cause larger problems.

If you get a good oil cooler like a Mocal and use at least -10 lines you won't have any problems since the pressure drop will only 1-3 PSI @ 3k+ RPM
