well tonight i started my car and it shook (a lot) and it turned off and i started it again and it did the same thing and then i started it and it was starting to die but i pressed gas and it was running. it was fine for a while but then the "check" light came on. its not the maintenance required light, its a light that says "check" on it. so i checked my owners manual and it said it was some emissions light. i have no idea what the means. could anyone help me out with this. I NEED MY CAR WORKING!!. thanks.

 

your best bet is to take your car to a place like autozone or pepboys. they can plug your ecu into a little code scanner and tell you exactly why your check engine light came on and what good remedies there are to fix that problem. Go to them and see if they will give you the code number that your ecu is reporting and then we can help you out better.
