Default Any one heard of Microtech?

It is like Hondata and gives you complete control of your engine. It was invented in Australia and is sold through out the world. I am prolly going to get this system, but wanted to know if any one knew about it? http://www.microtechefi.com

you should find a tuner first for that system to see if it is worth it. wouldnt want to get it just to save a few bucks and then have to spend even more on tuning cause noone in the area knows how to use it ya know.

i know the tuner and he has tuned a stock motor integra to be a 12 second car. I have a bigger turbo than thatt guy and more displacement so I am sure to get results. I am not saving a few bucks either. This system starts out a $1100 and like another 200-300 to tune it.

i assume he meant stock w/turbo.

also 1100 is a lot for a standalone these days. i didn't read that link yet so i wont comment on it yet, but hondata gives you everything you need, for $200, $400 w/boost.

You can have the best tuner in the world and the best stand-alone in the world, but if that system is completely foreign to them, it's gonna take them a while to figure it out and consequently cost you a fortune.

At the very least, I'd get a suggestion from Microtech themselves on where to find a tuner in your area that's familiar with the system. That can give you an indication of how much support & help you can expect from them in the future.

Also, from what it looks like, those systems fall in the "full-standalone" category, and require rewiring your entire engine to the new computer. That's quite a bit of labor on top of the base price & tuning expenses. And depending on how good their available base maps are, it's gonna take a couple hours of programming to just get the car running period, never mind tuning it to run well.

Just some things to keep in mind. If it were me, I'd go Hondata - especially at those prices.
