once the badges are off you will be left with a residue. dont use a tar or adhesive remover some times these are to aggressive for most clear coats. stop by a local paint store for rubbing compounds that they recommend..

Ya be careful using a heat gun...you can melt/burn the paint....and use dental floss just because some of the emblems have little plugs that stick into the body work, floss with loosen up the surrounding sticky and you should be able to take them off, try using a low end adhesive remover like wd40.....KIDDING, some vinegar mix with water works ok, and repeated car washes and your body work shop should have a compound that they could recommend too....also if you dont get those holes filled you can end up with rust or nappy-ness.....getting them filled looks way better than having holes in your trunk lid IMO.

Use a hair dryer, it won't get hot enough to damage the paint and just hot enough to loosen the glue. I also used a product called Goo Gone on the residue, won't damage the clear coat or paint.

yep, good gone works well in taking off the left over residue.
