all right im building a b20 and im putting 9.1 compression postins in it, im going to turbo it in a bit but some guy tole me that u can stant a motor with that low of compression with out some kind of forced indtcuion so im wondering if that guy is just stupid... or am i??

HAHAH!!!! w3rd. Please do that.

Compression ratios are a ratio, 9.1 is not a compression ratio. 9:1 is a compression ratio.
And what he said, kick him in the nuts. Your B20 stock had I think 8.8:1 compression and they do ok.

LOL
It will be just fine until you boost.

Mustang svt's are 8.5:1 as far as I know and I reckon the 5L mustangs have even lower compression ratios and they don't have trouble starting up.
Another example would be H22, low compression. Pretty much anything with a large amount of displacement isn't compressed, top-fuel dragsters not included, because that would end in death and doom of the universe.

edit: Sorry I read the original and thought he was a mechanic or something that was advising you.

Considering a B20B (USDM) has 8.8:1 compression

I think exeptionally high comp requires stronger starters. Diesels are like 19:1 and higher and have different starters than gassers.
