i have a 96 civic dx cel came on so i turned off my car got a piece of wire jumped the plug put my key in turned the ignition it blinked 5 times so i assume code 5 or 14 i think code 5 is map sensor and 14 might either be an 02 sensor(or is that code 1) or it might be aic but usually when that is out the idle surges. i checked out my map sensor is there a way to tell if it is bad i looked didnt seem to be damaged unplugged or anything i have a fairly new air filter on it but my tb an im were dirty so i cleaned it as best as i could with some carb and choke cleaner didnt want to spray too much cause i was afraid it would **** it up or somethign, after i did this i unplugged the battery and let it set hooked it back up and started it and the cel came on again. i have new plugs n it. what should i do change the map sensor or clean out the im and tb some more. one other thing im over on my oil change but i checked and i have enough oil its just needs to be changed . it has a low idle i rasied it up a little and it burns hella gas thats why im thinking its the map sensor. any comments would be appreciative.
