uninstalling A/C ....help!!!
I need to know what I can and can't take out. Right now I'm behind my glove box ripping stuff out but I stopped.
I'm not sure if I can disconnect those two hoses that are going from my Blower housing and into the firewall. Can I ?

On my SiR the A/C was out of gas and I never used the car for about a year. I was worried about removing the system if it still had gas inside. I spoke to a refrigerant specialist who we use in work and he assured me that because the car had been sat for so long any remains of gas inside would be long gone. Sure enough he was right!!!
Has your A/C been working recently, Have you been using it? Or did it stop working a long time ago? If you have been using it until recently I would suggest you visit a refrigerant specialist to have it de-gassed. Here in the UK that service does not cost very much and at least you will not damage the environment anymore or more importantly, your own health!
Hope this helps.

Not too much. I'l be in AZ this SUN-TUES. I'll be busy though. Gots to take a trip up to Globe for a court date
. Wish me luck. Everything should go smoothe according to my lawyer
.
Its best to take it to someone who knows how to discarge it or you can look around on the hardlines on the passenges side and find the little valve and discharge it on your own. Disclaimer: This is illegal and I didn't tell you to do it. FYI the gass and sludge is toxic. Ex-girlfriends house is a good place to do it. J/K

i just tookl mien out yesterdaywhne i replaced my eninge, take out ur radiator and remove the condesor in fornt of it. leave your ac fan there, u can switch it on and off now with the ac button. then look on the drivers side in fornt and use wire cutter to cut throught the lines. then remove that canister in forntof the motor mount. then remove ac pump thing by the alternator, thencut all the lines alll the way to ur firewall. it weighs like 15 lbs and ill give ur engine more air when its out
i also just took mine out last night. weird. anyways i already had my dash out so i disconnected the majority of the tubbing then i had a lot of fun and ripped all the lines through that tiny hole. it was so great seeing all of it come through such a small place and then all sitting in my cabin. me and a friend laughed. i guess we are easily amused. anyways the compressor weighs a ton and so does the box has a bit of weight too. i was kinda afraid when i looked at all of it at first but once we got started then finished i was very happy it was all gone. plenty of room for a nice big turbo...... mmmmmmm.........
