I am needing to the get R-12 removed from our Del's A/C system. It's already pretty shot so I am thinking there is already a leak somewhere.

I just want to evac the gas before removing the A/C system. Not refilling or retro fitting to R-134.

The problem is the car has no tags, no insurance for driving, and since putting the garage into the garage our trailer was stolen, and my parents slipt up so the truck we used to tow the cars around was sold in the divorce. So I can't take the car anywhere.

Does anyone know if there are some solutions for this?
Don't want to vent R-12 into the atmopshere.

check and see if there is a mobile car repair person in your area or call an heating and cooling person to see if they can remove it from your car

Good suggestion. I'd imagine a home cooling technician might possibly be able to help out.

And before anyone writes "just vent it to the atmosphere", the original poster has already stated that he wants to be responsible about properly evacuating the refrigerant, so please keep any illegal suggestions to yourself.

Are you sure there is any in it? Pull the cap off and press the schrader valve(Like a tires valve stem) See if there is pressure.

I was thinking there was some still in it only because it'll blow really cold for about 15 minutes of driving before it drop to ambient air temp no matter what the controls is set on.

I'll check though. Right now we're just getting to the step of removing dead weight. Our first civic's A/C was shot so it wasn't any issue removing that whole system.
