EVAP system questions
Is this system needed?? If not is there anything i need to know before i just take the evap canister and hoses out? Are there some sort of lines that need to be plugged/blocked off?? Most importantly does it affect performance??
Thanks.
Thanks.
Well if you plug it all how are you going to vent your gas tank? It usually has a sensor that will throw an engine code if it doesn't think the system is working...why would you take it out?
Well, im just want to get rid of everything i dont really need. Basically all the emission crap. Buddy of mine that has the same setup as i do took his out with no codes either. I just wanted to get some second opinions about it before it do it though. Hmmm..are there any negitive effects if i dont plug it but just remove it???
If you put a vented gas cap you'll be ok.Satan some of us are luckey and have ne emission!
bastards!
Since you do not say that you are in fact building a track car-it is ILLEGAL to remove any of it. Has nothing to do with state emissions rules-it is a federal law. Waht will you do when you go to sell the car? In race trim, it would be fine to do this as many others have-means an alternate setup such as a vented cap and or fuel cell. There are other things on the car that will NOT affect the legality-get creative if you are trying to lose weight. Did you know that a pair of Sparco REV seats weigh less than 1 stock one?
As to performance with a stock engine-can't say for sure. If you have an OBD-II car the options as to mod's can be more limited.
Good luck and keep the air clean
