Im putting ex brakes on my rex- will HX wheels fit? Caliper clearance? 10.3" rotors I believe.

 

I know the Hx rims don't fit 5th and 6th gen Ex's....you say you are using 90-91 Ex brakes?

 

yes with the 10.3" rotors- same size as 95 ex

 

who makes some light rims in 14" that are cheap then?

 

Kosei makes some cheap, relativly light 15's.

They only fit on 10.3" brake Civics if you grind the calipers a bit where the would hit the wheel. Peace.

to make it fit, get a 5mm spacer and shave the caliper a little....

there is no way that it will clear 10.3" on EX or GSR or RS....becuase they are all the same (Nissin calipers)

 

so theoretically I could use a 95 civic ex caliper (non abs) and use a 5mm spacer and slight shaving to make it fit? The 90-91 ex uses the same rotors as 95 ex. The 90-91 ex calipers are the same as integra and there is no way to make those fit right? I'm asking cuz I could take my girlfriends calipers and swap them for mine. I really want to make the hx rims fit- I can't find any inexpensive 14" rims that are light.

 

I thought the 14" HX wheels would fir the civics fine.

 

It is easier to just find cheap 15" wheels and 15" tires. 14" is a dying size as far as tires go. 195/50 and 205/50-15s on the other hand are pretty affordable and there are tons of tires available.

 

The HX rims WILL fit my crx with 90-91 civic ex brakes- all I had to do was grind some of the brake pad bracket away. I borrowed a wheel from an HX today at work and checked it. I got busy with the die grinder and now all is well. I picked up some HX wheels today too. Now I'll just have to get some tires.
