Default Good Ignition Systems

Hey everyone... does anyone have any good/bad experiences to share about aftermarket ignition systems such as MSD or Jacobs? I need to get one, but want to make sure that I get a good one... maybe this will help someone else too

msd is a good ignition systen. That is what i have and i've had it for about 2 years now and have had no problems. Personally i wouldn't go with a jacobs because there ads they seem to make up hp figures.look in a magazine and they claim like 10 hp on a stock civic(they also claim the civic had 127hp stock so unless they used an engine dyno i dont see how they would get that number) and same with all the other cars.until i see a before and after chassis dyno sheet i will not believe their claims

I have an MSD 6A with a blaster 2 coil. Before I decided on the MSD, I was looking into a crane hi-6 because the outputs were higher, but decided not to since my friend had one and took a crap. So I decided to go with quality rather than quantity. No problems since. Took me awhile to figure out how to wire it since I got bought it used. If you need any help with the wires let me know

I tried a Jacobs - never even got it to work- I had an MSD 6A for a month- then it burned out on the freeway- so I have been stock ever since- I don't know of any reliable setups- If you don't have a real need for it then spend your money elsewhere

How about the Accel 300? (I think it's the 300, don't remember the number for sure)

I'd stay away from the Jacobs, even though they were good on their warranty, it was a pain in the ***. We got it installed and working just fine but there was absolutlely no difference in performance on the mildly built b16a that it was put on. It was a lot of money (this is two years ago) so we managed to get our money back after a lot of phone calls haggling etc.
I've had experience with MSD in an offroader but it wqas a whole different application. Not much power but it smoothed out the engine for meand was an improvment over the stock crappy ignition of that particular vehicle company.

ok cool thanks

I'm specifically looking for a ignition system that works well with a turbo -- specifically a greddy turbo (unless someone can give me a good reason to go with a differnt turbo manufacturer ), which I will be getting in about a month, and my venom pc nos system...
