Every time I open a post on this site someone's car is stolen and its happening too often... I am about to move close to NOVA where most of the car thefts are reported... I am wondering if i should sell my hybrid while I can or keep it... Do other brand of cars get stolen as much too? Are thieves just as likely to steal a 240sx or 300zx as they are likely to steal a honda hybrid? I love cars and still want to be involved but I am thinking if nissans dont get stolen as much, this might be a good time to join the bandwagon... I love hondas a lot but this theft thing is getting ridiculous

 

its like that everywhere, towns i knew of where people could leave for the day or even weekends with their front doors unlocked now have alot of car theft. ****** blows.

 

I don't have an answer to your question but I just wanted to add that here in Montreal, Canada, the VR6-powered VWs are the hottest items. People here don't seem to steel the hybrids, but god damn the ITRs are the WORST! Check out the salvage sites for Located in Quebec and every second car is a stripped ITR, SI, SIR etc ... It's terrible. It's absolutely infuriating.

Thieves arent a problem in my area.....yet.

 

Thieves suck they just stole one my friends GF 4 door auto Integra last night. We just found it in a driveway on the other side of town. **** thieves!!!!!!

 

most of the ITRs ive seen in toronto are from NJ and area. chidoks, there arent that many websites for the canadian salvages.

People will attempt to rob, plunder, and steal anything worth stealing. How hard someone will try depends on how much it's worth to someone else.

 

my friend has the nicest car collection...he has a 02 ford mustang cobra, 03 g35 coupe. 03Audi A8L, 91 Q45, 95 Impala SS. all the cars have the keys in the car. in an open garage in a house with unlocked doors. hes never had a problem.

he will... it is more than likely... we use to be a open door neighborhood but not anymore.

 

Things just arent open like that anymore. The world is turning bad.

Dont buy an ITR, thats for sure. I gotta watch my back every where I go, I tell people that but they just wont believe me. F thieves.

 

if i do buy an itr...its not going to be daily driven...garage kept...strictly for the track

 

Hondas get stolen I would say the most out of any marque of cars since the resale for aftermarket/OEM parts is the greatest. A perfect example is http://www.thepartstrader.com. Look at the amount of Honda parts for sale compared to say rotary or nissans. Theives steal what is a thriving market place, Hondas happen to be just that.

 

seriously if you are moving to NOVA dude you've got three options,
1. get a garage and never keep the car outside
2. get a 50 cal and sit and wait
3. get a good alarm and pray for the best

lived there for almost 15 years now, i've been lucky(with a garage) but sooo many others haven't good luck
