Default Nitrous Oxide For Integra

I ordered a zex kit and civic type r camshafts for my 95 gsr still in process. I was wondering what's the maximum psi shots my motor can take? What do I need to make it take a big enough shot? maybe 75 or more? i heard that 65 is average. can someone help me or give me info on what to do thanks

Don't know much about ZEX but I ran 75 shot of Nitrous Express on my GSR and never had trouble.

If you must run 75...you def need 2 step colder plugs and you need to retard the timing. I wouldnt go over 75 on a dry kit...when youre getting that high you might want to consider a direct port setup and more extensive fuel and ignition modifications.

Stick with 65.

shots are not measured in PSI. psi refers to bottle pressure. When someone says a 65 shot that means a shot worth producing around 65 horsepower ..not 65 psi as you might have been thinking.

I would stay at 65, especially if its dry, which i beleive it is. Redlinegsr has been runnign the zex kit with no probs for about a year now, and pulling soem respectable times.

I don't mean to sound like a *****, but all of these people aren't really giving you good advice. I'm guessing you don't have the kit yet, b/c the instructions give the best advice.

Both my friend and I have run the zex kit on a B18C1 with no problems. A 55 shot is normal, without colder spark plugs or retarding timing. To run a 65 you need colder plugs and retard the timing -2. To run a 75 you need colder plugs and retard the timing -4 degrees.

Yes, people do run 100 shots on stock motors....but not for long. If you want to run anything over 75 shot you are going to want at least new rods/rings/pistons. Also, if you run over 75 you probably want a direct port nitrous system, as that will ensure you get the right amount of shot to each cylinder.

Please search and follow the instructions.

50 shot you should be fine. Play safe.
Don't forget to retard your timing 4 degrees or so.

super old thread. But go to a 8 heat range. I’m not sure if these engines use projected tip plugs from the factory or non projected but a nitrous engine really needs a non projected plug so it doesn’t act like a glow plug. Start low on the timing and work up. Until it stops gaining as much power with each additional degree then take another out and you should be good. After each pull kill the engine immediately and check the plugs. Idle time will wash the fuel ring, even a little
