just curious... what do you guys mean by "short" block and "long" block anyways? thanks for the help

 

short block is just the block. usually it includes pistons, rods, crank, oil pan, etc. to be a complete block

long block is everything from the valve cover to the oil pan. no tranny

so long block comes with the head and short block doesnt

 

long block usually comes with intake and exhaust manifolds as well...
