long block = head & block
short block = just the block, lower half of the engine.

hope that helped

i had been wondering about this myself too.

so does either long or short block imply that belts, ps, ac, and other misc accessories are also included?

short block is just the block? how about oil pan, etc.?

depends on who your buying it from. if the engine has it then it does, if it doesn't find one that does. usually you can peice together a full swap cheaper then buying it complete.
