Long Block / Short Block Differences?

Long Block / Short Block Differences?
Hey - im just trying to collect all the info i can...what is the difference between a long block & a short block...I asked around & one guy said a short block was a bare block, and a long block had the goodies inside, lmk thx

Short Block is the block with the internals but it's only the block, head sold separately 
Long block comes complete from from the oil pan to the vc. (Block + Head)
