I want 12's turbo or nitrous GSR hatch
Let me preface everything by saying that i am college student who works part-time at a coffee shop, so obviously i don't have a lot of money, but i'm willing to do the work myself and save up for a while, plus during winter and summer break i will work a lot more. Anyways, i want a 12 second car, and i don't want to have to open my motor up at all. A turbo has a lot of attraction to me because then my car would haul *** all of the time, where as with nitrous it will only be fast when i spray.
As far as cost for the turbo i would probably buy a used mani, turbo, and do a VAFC hack, so it would probably be less than 1,500 total, and i could buy it piece by piece.
As far as the nitrous i would probably go with a ZEX kit for simplicity.
any help, suggestions or insight is appreciated. thanks

You should be able to get 12's with a good turbo setup but i doubt it will cost less than 1500 even with the hack for management. You would need to buy good components. If you go the nitrous route get the nos plate kit for the gsr a fuel pump and maybe a nitrous controller. either way you should see 12's
It's up to you. Running around in a slow car all day(that is only fast at the track) sucks, but it keeps me out of trouble. Personally I haven't liked any of the turbo'd cars that I've driven because the power doesn't feel like it is coming on linearly, so I went with nitrous.

well i was hoping for a little more than the word "turbo", maybe some logical reasons why and why not. I'm really leaning toward a zex kit for now. My car hasn't been running right since i swapped in the motor, but i think once i get it right it will be fast enough for me to be happy with it. Also i'll probably get a sk2 mani and some R cams, then spray a 75 shot at the track. Would that be good for 12's?
That's just an idea tho, i want to hear from someone who has gone the same route, or maybe had both turbo and nitrous at different times and can give an un-biased opinion. Thanks

With a GSR motor in a hatch can't you get 12's all motor? If you gut it out I think you probably could get damn close with a GSR motor. If you are looking for a cheap route I would say go with the zex kit. I think a 50-65 shot would probably get you into the 12's. Those hatches are pretty light to begin with.
NOS plate system on a GSR motor, with like a 125shot or so would probally yield mid 12's on slicks. make sure you get decent fuel mangement upgrades either way you go.
just so you know, at hatch with a gsr will run 13's stock, my buddy hit 13.7 in a stock hatch, a t3 turbo setup with slicks and easy 12's, i hit them in my teg, ls with only 8 pounds good luck
man i really want to go turbo, but i'm also really broke and probably couldn't afford to do a decent set-up any time soon, so rather than wait i think i'll go with a zex kit......and maybe a purge kit for fun

12s would be easy as **** with nitrous.. turbo wouldnt be too hard either............it depends on what ur preferences are and how much u actually race..... lets say u usually just daily drive and never care to drive too crzy and go to the track every weekend or so.. then i would go notrous...
but if u like to drive like ur running form the cops at all times.. then i would go turbo.. just cuz its gonna cost u a grip to keep refilling ur bottle.
if ur b18c hatch has enough grunt the way it is to satisfly ur daily driving and u like to rip it up every once and a while on the weekends then i would go nitrous... but if u think ull be running down ur bottle everyday.. then i would just go turbo.. cause it would be cheaper in the long run.
zex kits work awsome by the way.. my friend has a zex in his integra type r... he only ran 14.3 (shittiest driver ever.. trust me) but he traped 104-105 mph with jsut a 45-50 shot (cant remember which shot).....and 104-105 traps in an integra is easy low *** 13's so im sure u could hit 12's with jsut that in ur lighter hatch...
also the b18c is capable of handling a 75shot without too much trouble.

thanks for the replies....nitrous seems to be the road that i will go down......hey...i love that quote in your sig....zipties are a way of life they are holding all kinds of stuff on my car....they were holding up my muffler for a few days until i bought a rubber hanger, and i think they would have lasted as long as i needed them to.
gutted hatch + stock gsr motor + fuel system + 100 shot direct port = 12's Daily driveable...
I saw in ur sig that gsr motor isn't running right? fix that b4 u squeeze or turbo, it will magnify whatever is going on and b4 long u won't have a running car...
