B18B turbo vs D16Z6 turbo? Best costified choice? Power vs $$$$

Default B18B turbo vs D16Z6 turbo? Best costified choice? Power vs $$$$

I have been contemplating both setups and while the B series LS turbo seems to be a popular chioce and will likely produce more hp... however, the SOHC being a cheaper build which would you guys justify based on power vs cost?? I would like to go low 12's eventually in a daily driver with pretty good reliability.

What combos then would you guys run? Any dynos? Timeslips?

D16z6 + Nice Turbo Kit can get you into the 12's on slicks and still daily drivable....

But if i were in your shoes i would do the LS just cause it has a grip load more torque in stock form then the D16z6 and the potencial of running 12's is easier with the LS..... just my opinion...

in what chasis? if you want to make power get the ls. but the sohc motor in a crx boosted will be pretty fast too.

yeah it's well worth it...trust me. my ls setup is also in a SI hatch. it's fun as hell to drive!

do you have the motors? power? the b18b of course.... is this even a debate? i don't even understand this question. DOHC 1.8L compared to a SOHC 1.6L. i think the displacement in itself should solidfy your final choice. 1.6L DOHC VTEC b16a then it might be a different story

stay SOHC . . . there is nothing wrong with that motor. You can build it to make jsut as much power as that ls, and it's just cheaper and funner to smash people with a SOHC motor. To many people run LS Turbo
