leakdown test results, your opinion please
3 cylinders are around 30% and the other one is at 7%.
the reason i did a leakdown is because i suspected that my car was burning oil. last week i went on a trip and drove it approx. 700 miles. by the end of the trip my oil light popped up. i checked my distick and there was no oil left. it took 4 quarts to fill it.
my motor is- ls/vtec with 3000 mile on it. what do you guys think about those leakdown numbers. thanks

Driving around with no oil will destroy an engine very fast. I'm surprised your leakdown numbers are as good as they are. Sounds like time for a new motor.

damn........30% leakdown...........sounds like you have holes in your pistons
well maybe not holes but you definably have a piston ring problem.......either there worn right out or never seated properly.....
tear it apart and start over........thats your only solution.......

Are you sure you did the test correctly? Did you listen or feel for where the air is going out? There's only three places that the air can go out, oil dipstick tube (rings), intake manifold (pull a vaccum line after the throttle body) , and muffler (burnt valve). Is your exhaust blowing smoke? Really worn valve guides will also make you burn oil.
thanks guys, yeah i did the test correctly. i suspected the rings to be at fault. hopefully i didn't damage anything else.

If you did the test correctly where did the air come out of? You shouldn't be suspecting rings. A leak down test will tell you for sure, If you know how to do it correctly. I look for 5-10% max btw.
yes, i did it right. i have 2 holes drilled into my vavle cover connected to a catch can,( like the one that endyn has on their 2.0L build up). air was coming out of the catch can.
