But if you don't have an external amp DO NOT go for the Type R's, the Type S's will do alot better off of any head unit. The Type R's really show their stuff when run by an amp

Those are some of the best selling 6*9's I have at the shop. The tweeter's are kinda bright for rear applications on sedans and coupes though. Your imaging will get shifted back a lot because of the tweeters and also because they're sensitivity level is quite high.
Yeah, the other guy's right about the amp. If you don't have an amp and you're not planning on installing one, get the SPS-690A's.
