Default subs...alpine type E???

anyone know how good the Alpine Type E subs are? theres a car toys tent sale and they said $65 each...

also what do you think about the alpine deck 9831???

The Alpine CDA-9831 is a great HU, it has everything you need 50x4 peak power, 4ch digital time correction, 3 position HP/LP digital x-over, sub level and phase control, SAT ready, MP3/WMA/CD-R/RW playback, 3 x 4V pre outs, iPod ready, and a chit load more stuff, MSRP is $450 US.
On the other hand, although the sub is ok, it is Alpines ENTRY LEVEL sub 94

imo thats too much for that model of sub you could find some old style type r's for that price(65.00usd each) and im assuming that there is no warnty with thoes type e's i sport an alpine type-x cant go wrong with alpine talkem down to like 50$ each and its worth it

u could probably find u a used 12" type r for not much more than that.
u can even get a new one for about a hundred if you know where to shop.

Same goes for any manufacturer - entry level stuff generally sucks.

That being said, a bad sub can sound decent in the right box with the opposite also being true
