**philips HID conversion**
when converting to use the hid kit, what is the bulb heat difference? is there any chance of melting light assembly housings, or the lens? i have ctr headlights, and would love to have hids--but dont want to risk melting the lights. thanks---j.
Ok, if you did some research on HIDs, and didnt just buy them for the pretty colors they make, you'll learn that HIDs use less wattage than halogen bulbs, i believe they are rated at 35W. Wattage is a measurement of power, power means heat...heat means....well...heat. So they will actually run COOLER than halogens.
So you are ok
Good luck.

on my integra... even after running the hid's for hours... the lens never got hot once... once i turned on the hi-beams... talk about a lens getting hot and quick!
hid's use little power and do not get hot
