Default Brass on Oil Pan?

Can a Barb fitting be welded onto an oil pan, or will that just not work?

You can probably braze it on there.

or you could get a 3/4" x 3/4" pipe thread barb ($.75) and a 3/4" pipe thread lock nut ($.35) and drill a 5/8" hole in the pan. Thread in the barb, cover in sealant, tighten down lock nut for safety.

Dustin,
So basically get a barb fitting lock nut, and JB Weld or something and just do that? Sounds like it would work . . . I drilled a hole today, and tightened my barb fitting that is 5/8" and was going to JB Weld it right now . . . . guess I should go get a pipe thread lock nut just for safety . . . can't be much maybe $0.50
