Project Integra - WTF - Exhaust glowing RED HOT !
Finally got '01 GSR started with the brake code.
The bastard stumbles around at low RPM's and the check engine light is on.
Looking under the car, the cat is glowing RED HOT under the heat shield.
What is going on? The cat is not supposed to get that hot is it?
Any sugestions . . .

I have herd of the header getting that hot but the cat? Dude sounds like you have a clogged cat! Check it out and see.... does it smell bad when you start it?

Its a 2001 GSR. Its an OBD2 unless he has converted it, which he may have.

Yes, it's an OBD II 2001 GSR with only 9,700 miles! It's a theft recovery that I just put back together. All that was stolen were the seats, wheels and the ECU. I put an ECU from a 2000 GSR in it and started it with the brake code to drive it to the dealer for immobilizer reprogramming. It just runs like **** though. It has probably been sitting for close to a year, but WTF, it shouldn't be doing this. Maybe some mouse made a nest in my cat!
You have unburned fuel going through your exhaust, that's why your cat is melting. Some of the things I could think of right now are bent valves, foul plugs, foul injectors, bad o2 sensors.
Well, I know it's not the cat - disconnected it and still runs like ****!
With the cat off, you can really smell raw fuel. Could it have something to do with the fact that I have a 2000 GSR ECU in my 2001 car? I'm not aware of any difference between '00 and '01 - correct me if I'm wrong.
All I can think of is the ECU, do these computers go "bad"? Bought it used on "eBay Motors"

if you want helop on how to fix a problem, you need to tell us what you have done to the car. since you told us nothing, i will assume the car is bone stock with a stock replacement ecu?
Your ecu might be running in "limp" mode. Try to see if you can rev the engine pass 3500rpm. Also, try to read the led from the ecu to see what code it's throwing.
Sounds like ur Cat is blocked or raw fuel in being dumped into the catalytic convertor. Need ur help. Purchased a 2000 Integra GS has the dumb immobilzer system. Need to drive the car to the dealership. I can get brake code with the ownership no problem. How do i go about entering the code to make the car drivable? The car is a stolen and recovered. Ur help is much appreciated.

The stumbling is also probably caused by a really rich running condition. Or a fuel leak. Or a misfire. That would cause low rpm stumbling, and the cat to be overheating.
Check the Ignition system first, maybe you are running one 3 cylinders. One is dumping fuel and melting the cat.

it'll rev past 3500, so apparently it is not running in limp mode. i'll check that code thing out.

check the timing... this exact thing happened to me. The timing belt was off abit... so get the timing checked and I think you will find your problem.
