Default red headers

my car when it runs for a couple mins the headers start to turen cherry red does any one know the problem?

a clogged cat is the first thing that comes to mind. be careful. a friend of mine had a clogged cat and the header turned bright red. he tried driving it to a shop to see what was wrong and his car caught on fire.

its prob not the cat i have aftermarket headers cat and exhaust only a month old

too lean fuel/air mixture or timing is off--two of the most common culprits for 'HOT' exhaust.

or the clogged cat, but most likely a/f or timing. I had my intake gear slip on me last week and the header changed ocolors...no more pretty gold

cherry headers---next step is burnt valves---arrrggghh

what we really don't like: the color white on valves and exhaust components.
