I have two manuals, haynes and chilton. Chilton says to replace the 3 engine mount bolt with 3 new ones when removing them and haynes didn't say jack about replacing them. Should I replace it? my manual contradic and i want to do the job right!

 

no need to replace bolts

 

dont change the bolts there isnt that much stress on them but just look at them to see if there is any damage on them if not then just install the old ones

 

Is there a trick that will make sure my mount line up before I put the bolt in? I'm afriad of cross threading it.

no tricks

 

theres no way around it, its a bitch to do the front mount, so just wiggle it around and pray, it too kme almost an hour for the 1st one, and i had someone wiggling the motor. u can also unbolt the brac ket from the block and wiggle just the mount and bracket, but good luck.
