Default is there a quick fix? check engine light 23 knock sensor

im going to the track tonight as its only open every other week and im usually busy, but im getting this check engine light code 23, knock sensor, is there a way that i can temporarely disable this code while i race so it doesn't put me into limp mode? i will either get a chipped ecu with it disabled or get the wiring, and the sensor fixed next week but i need something for tonight if its possiable.

does the knock sensor code even through you into limp mode?

You can't engage vtec or rev over 3.5k?

Chances are it's a soft code and just prevents the ecu from taking it into consideration... which means it won't retard the timing if the engine knocks... which isn't great but it's what my car does anyway (obd1).

It shouldn't effect performance... but I could be wrong.

i heard that it puts it into like a minor limp mode where id adds a lot of fuel and retards the timing but you can still rev the **** outta it and all.

yeah people said that about o2 too...

I have NO o2 sensor and NO problems... not so much as a mile difference in mpg's at the end of a full tank...

I'd bet money it doesn't touch the ignition or the fuel... probobly just eliminates it's "check" of that sensor.

either way it's not going to harm anything... IF it was adding fuel and retarding the ign. it would run like ****.. you'd know... try turning your dist. to full retard and then turn up the fuel pressure... it won't run even close to where it is when it's in proper tune.

And the worst it's going to do is soak your cat with gas (bad... it can make your cat go bad... but a hi-flo replacement is under 120 so who really cares... and this is only if you run a cat at the track.).

I wouldn't miss a night at the track for this... (if it's running like it normally did... if there was any kind of mis-fire or pinging obviously I'd skip it... but it sounds like it 'feels' normal to you.).

ya i don't hear any det, so im just going to run it. i just redid all the KS wiring and found some imperfections and it was a little loose so maybe that alone fixed it, im resetting the ecu right now, so regaurdless of wether or not it comes on im running. thanks for the ideas.

You have to use a grounded wire for the KS.
