Default nitrous with chipped ecu

i got a pr3 ecu with my b16a1 swap and i am wanting to run nitrous but i keep hearing since the chip advanes timing it not good to use nitrous. is there anything i can do to run the nitrous like retard the timing back some..plese help

So you are running an aftermarket chip in your PR3? If you are manually retarding your timing at the distributor, you probably want to retard an extra 2-3 degrees over the recommended... car will suck off juice, too.

Here in the trailerpark, we use 27C512 chips with both a NA and a nitrous timing profile burned to it. Toggling pin 1 between ground and power switches between programs.

A bit complex for a n00b, maybe, but all the details you need at PGMFI.org if you want to DIY.

Whoa.. That is really freeking cool.. You could do that also to have a high boost and low boost map, althought I guess there might not be a need for that.. a pump and race gas would work nicely though.
