Default What do you think

The guy that is building my motor has his oil return line tapped into this little thing on his block and it works really good I was just wondering what every body thinks about this spot. I think it’s a really good place it would get my oil return line away from my down pipe and make it shorter and more to the point.

good idea in theory but oil probably flows through that passage and that can cause the oil in the return line to back up.

you're better off tapping into the pan where you have no resistance to the flow of your oil.

You just have to drill about a half inch and your into the crank case and the oil would run right down into the oil pan, and why would you change your set up I know I'm never going back to naturally aspirated and if you really had to change because of a new manifold and turbo set up and that wouldn’t work for the new set up you could get something to cap it off with.

The mane reason is after readying the post (no love) and remembering when I took the oil line of my turbo and let it hang down and oil started running out with means the oil level was higher then my oil return line and then seeing my friends and how he did his return line. You can see how high my old return line is in the pic.

I dont think that is great idea. What if your oil back's up and you blow your seals on the turbo. Then you got another problem to deal with. I would just keep the way you have it now. Since you got heatshield on that return line i dont think that down pipe would fry it
