Default turbo b20 a bad idea?

I recently shot a rod through my block and was thinking since I need a new block maybe I should upgrade. I was thinking about using a b20 block but I've heard they crack easy. Does anybody have any experience with turbocharging a b20/vtec with stock internals. I'm not looking to do anything crazy, I'm only running 8psi.

i have a turbo b20b motor and boost is set at .8bar street and 1.3bar on the track with race gas but i have not turned it up yet so i stay at .8bar on the track with pump gas right now trying to get good times at low boost first

I ran b20 vtec turbo for a while only 6.5 psi, it ended up throwing a rod through the block(not boost related) when we pulled motor out the motor looked great. It's was a sad day becaue my block was trrash. We currently use it as a cup holder/ashtray in our garage .

Shooting a rod through my block was not boost related either. It sucks bad my block is destroyed. I feel you pain.

any engine will be fine on mild boost levels IF it is setup properly and the tuning is good.

I've seen many stock block engines boost and boost and never fail. And b20s are included in that.

It never ran right after I hydrolocked it and I think I may have damaged the rod in the process. I do have very bad luck with cars but I'm getting used to it.

If i was to run a B20 i would get some AEBS t-sleeves just to strengthen it up alittle. It would be fine after that

if you're gonna get a B20 and get it sleeved and all that other stuff, you might as well just get a B18a/b and get it sleeved and bored to 84mm. there goes your b20 right there...and a whole lot cheaper as well.

You are 100% correct. If your gonna sleeve a b20 you might as well do a b18 to 84mm its the same thing...but cheaper.

The only reason you would want a b20 is for the stamp..hehe...bling bling.
