IAT went bad, will this work?
I figured since Honda sensors don't run on actual numbers (170* farenheit), that if you put a resistor in the place of the sensor (respective to the amount of resistance that the sensor uses), it would work. Will it?
My IAT sensor read 28.7 ohms, so its gone. At room temperature, it should be at 1-4 ohms. So I figured if I splice a 3 or 4 ohm resistor in place of the sensor, that the ECU will read 'room temperature' at all times.... There is no way I'm going to pay $163 for a new IAT sensor... Will this work?

Wow thats a pretty sweet idea, I've never heard of anyone thinking up something like that. Persoanlly I have no clue if it would work but hey, resistors are cheaper than the IAT so why not give it a shot? If it doesnt work then you'll be replacing it anyway. I'd like to hear other peoples input on this.
i got a IAT for sale....$25+ $3 shippin
anyways.. u need a variation on the readings.... the IAT tells the ecu how cold (dense in a sense) its the actual ambient air ts sucking to control and monitor the amount of fuel and air that will be used.... the denser the air the more afected its the air/fuel ratio since Oxygen its only 23% of the total air comming in....

I tried wiring two 1 ohm (the biggest Radio Shack had) to the IAT wires, and it didn't work. Everything was setup right, it took me about half an hour with the multi-meter trying to figure everything out. But still didn't work. I thought it was worth a try, the resistors only cost me $3 something.
