Your going to have a crazy sick car once its tuned and your done with it

Sometimes I wish I had an older civic - give me an excuse to upgrade the GSR to a b20 and go nuts while having a b18c winter beater

<sigh> I can only dream

How does it compare to the 1.8L auto LS? I am planning on doing the B20 bottomend swap this winter.

The jdm B20b is equivalent to the usdm B20z.
They both have the higher 9.6 CR pistons

I'm sure the car feels much better than before. Pretty good hp considering you have relatively low torque for a b20.

That rumor is untrue. High compression B20 motors came after 98, regardless of market.

Not true at all.

97-98 B20b's are 8.8:1
99-00 B20z's and JDM B20b's are 9.6:1

I know, because I have several of them sitting in my garage downstairs.

<--Has a 2000 JDM B20B with Crower 404's, and stuff....

lol y is it so hard for people to understand....mine is the one with the higher compression....jdm b20b=usdm b20z......yeah i've got low torque numbers probably cause i have a torque converter and i have my timing set for 60ft times so my top end isn't that strong.

Uhhhh thats exactly what I said. If you re-read my post you'll see that you basically just repeated what I said.

I said:
"The jdm B20b is equivalent to the usdm B20z"
"They both have the higher 9.6 CR pistons"

Then you said:
"99-00 B20z's and JDM B20b's are 9.6:1"

Same thing cheif....

<---still needs the jdm b20...but already has the crower 403's

And I said you're both wrong. Search H-T, there is a thread with evidence to prove that, once again:

All B20 motors regardless of market are 8.8:1 if made before and including 1998. 1999-2001 B20 motors are 9.6:1. The end.

(Yes I know there seems to be a 9.2:1 JDM B20B but no one has found good proof as to when it was made...)
