Re: b20 me! yuPppie! (HX_Guy)
hey, i'm seriously considering the exact same thing to my gsr.
did u just swap the bottom end(block) and left everything else the same?
if so, then i'm assuming that the conversion cost u 2k but u still have the stock b18c1 block lying around?

Re: b20 me! yuPppie! (whiteGSR)
if i can find a b20 block, can i just bolt that piece up to it? after i install oil squirters...why did it cost 2k? did the engine cost over 1k? cause labor couldn't be that much

Well Bommie considering i did most of the work on the car, i'll help price it for you. Mind you i work for Prospeed so i dont know the exact prices that CJ was charged.
The B20 longblock did cost 1K. Vtec lines are around $125. New head gasket is around $60-$80. Cant quite remember. Modification of the vtec head. Theres a little labor. Modification of the pistons to allow for Toda spec B's, theres a little more labor. Figure an average jo-blo shop charges $500-$800 just for a straight swap. Plus with this swap we had to change over the trans and clutch stuff, pull the head off the B20, pull the head off the GSR, and then put the head on the GSR. Theres lots of work that is involved. If it was a straight swap, then no it wouldn't cost 1K for labor. Hope that gave you an idea of the pricing.

Re: b20 me! yuPppie! (GZR4DR)
and yes he kept his old short block which is actually worth more than the B20 longblock. I recommend that he keep it for a rainy day.
