you will need the conversion harness, but its not worth it to switch to a jdm p72. From what i've heard, the jdm p72 has a speed limiter, and isnt good for chipping....i think it would be a waste of money, but thats just MHO

i would get a usdm p72 obd1...but what are you plans for motor modifications? I have a friend selling a stock p72 obd1 and a mugen chipped p72 obd1...and I also sell chipped p28's...depending on your plans or your motor mods right now, i can recommend something for you.

yes..hondata is the best way to go........Theres not much difference between the jdm and the usdm p72. But i would just stick w/ a usdm one. If you do plan on getting the skunk2 cams and a new IM, then i do recommend selling the p72, and look into trading or buying a chipped p28, or just look directly into hondata

I've dyno'd back to back with both USDM and JDM P72 OBD-I ECU's. Same fuel cut rpm and seemingly the same fuel mapping. No changes in power or redline.

the JDM and the USDM p72 OBD1 is the bacially the same inside the computer? and JDM is more smaller, right? how about the wiring harness? will that be the same? cuz i know i will be needing a 00-01 obd2-obd1 converting harness..

Yes, if you want to convert to obd1, the obd2B-1 conversion harness is needed. JDM ecu's are usually smaller than the usdm ecu's. And yes they are basically the same.
