I need help and opinions.
Hi everyone. I"ve been reading and searching for topics about engines swaps. A lot came up and some of them really caught my attention. I have a 91 Civic hatchback DX. I've read that i have to convert MPFI to DPFI if i am correct?
If i am lucky i will have close to between $3-5,000 to spend on my swap. Can anyone tell what i should swap in? I've seen numerous people go with d16s cause of the low price. I've also seen people mentioning b16s and b18s. My goal is to just try to run low 13s, maybe high 12s. Is my available amount enough to reach my goal? Can you tell me what i would need to acheive my goal? Thanks a lot.

for low 13's high 12's I'd either boost a lsv/vtec or run a b20/vtec with about 12 to 1 compression and maybe a 50 shot of N2O. Either one of those motors would get you there but you will also need an lsd tranny, suspension, good tires and rims, etc. You will probably be looking towards 5-7 grand (motor set-up) to have it done right and be reliable. If you drop in a B16 and boost it you should run mid 13's but I wouldn't expect much more. going with a b16 and a homemade kit should keep you under 5,000 for the swap but you still need tires, rims, suspension. While you can build a A6 using b series rods and Toyota pistons that will hold like 15 lbs of boost I'd stay away from this unless you knew what you were doing. Good-luck
BTW you could go the cheap route and get a b16 with a home made kit for around 3500 but I'd spend the extra cash for good componets
