Default looking for mid to low 12s

Okay i've owned one del sol with a gsr swap and i was pretty happy with it, but it was totalled due to my stupidity. On to the actual question i am looking to drop my new one into the mid to low 12s maybe even a high high 11 but nothing more than that will all interior daily driven. What exactely would i need to do outside of b20 vtec turbo'd would i acually have to sleeve the motor or would a b20 with aftermarket pistons and rods do the job? Figured somebody here would be able to help me out thanks.

well build the motor and if it doesnt go 12's then keep doing mods til you hit 12's.

You can be running High 12's with a stock K20a2 motor and a K-pro.

You can hit mid 12's with bolt on's an slicks in an h22 hatch. no turbo needed just a little gas

well for one thing, the b20 block comes stock with the weakest sleeves ever made. lol so I would resleeve it put rods and pistons, and boost like you never boosted before.

you wont be able to do this in a del sol they are actually heavier than a hatch.

Id suggest boost or a k20. If you are boosting a b20 sleeve it or dont go over 7psi or 7500rpms, even then its still risky.

okay so an ls with a built bottom end would be the better choice is what im am getting from all of this. what i am trying to do is stay away from sleeving unless completely necessary. also can i hit that mark without the turbo. i am not looking for a crazy track car that gets **** mileage like i said mid to low 12s maybe a little higher i appreciate all of the suggestions how much would a k20 swap cost after everything or maybe even an h swap. i am not a newbie and i understand you do pay for what you get in return just trying to get some basic ideas on what i may wanna do

K-swap will cost you around 7g-8g after all the the parts and the motor. We have a customer in an EK Hatch, Stock K20a2, K-pro, Intake/Exhaust running 12.8's. He gets 38-40 miles per gallon on the interstate.

I had a B20b in my hatch last winter. Ran 12.7 @ 109.9 w/ a 2.0 60ft time @ 8psi

If you plan on sticking with stock sleevs a Vtec head would be a waste of money. Basicaly all the Bseries blocks/sleeves can only handle around the same amount of power safley. If go the cheapest route, (LS turbo) If you plan on sleeving and making more than the 300whp range Id say go for the Vtec head.

My $.02

you should be able to hit mid 12's in that car with a ls or gsr stock block w/ around 300hp... just make sure it has a good tune and it will last. forget the b20 (weaker sleeves). if you ever want much more that 350, i would get the gsr.

Just for reference, I ran a 12.9 @ 111 mph with a 2.1 60" on 14" street tires. This was in a EK hatch with a stock B18B turbo putting down 240 hp/207tq.

importbuilders.com built B16A2, built head from them, 57 Trim garrett turbo on about 16-18 psi is going to do it for me.
