I just installed a skunk2 short shifter with es bushings and everytime i drive fast (shift right before redline) and then cruise normal, i smell something burning comming through the air vents? What could it be? Maybe i'm just losing it... or is it the short shifter burning my tranny? maybe its the clutch? help!
damn your **** is fucken toast this happened to my friends brother right after skunk2 short shifter install.. he had to get a new tranny and clutch.
...haha na lol i dont think u should be driving to tuff on the new shifter till everything settles in.. i dont know what this has to do with a burning smell but it might as well be the way ur breaking it in. Or breaking it down

i think he was playing. . . .but if its burning. . .it still may be your clutch. . . dont' know if its related though. . .could just be a coincidence

could be the exhaust heating up real quick as a result of taking it to redline and smoking the new bushings.
But then again, i've never installed a short shifter before, just a thought.

Sounds like your buring your clutch away if it only happens when you shift quick ....

Not really, You can pick up a act street disk for like 99 $ and just get someone to do it for you ...Might as welll get your flywheel resurfaced though and a new rear main seal while you at it
