Need help on installing JDM SRS Steering wheel.
I've searched and have some good knowledge about installing the wheel. Basically, off the threads of Canuck-MX6, Skafia and Uncleben.

But since I am extremely mechanical impaired, and I will most likely be doing this on my own tomorrow, I need some more tricks and insights.
1. I was confused in one of th treads, do I disconnect the battery before doing anything? What is the proper procedure to prevent the SRS light to come on in the first place?
2. Here is the pictures of what I have: any opinions? Or can you point out what each connectors do? (thanks to Sven for being a good seller.)
3. I need more info on breaking off the tabs, so I'll see the following once I take off my USDM wheel tomorrow? Any hints on breaking them off?
4. I know you guys have some hard times making the wheel point straight, any more luck or findings for it?
5. Any more tips would be great.

yellow one on the srs looking reel is for SRS...
black one i've never seen... or atleast i dont remember.
have a torx screw ready and alot of patience....i think its the hardest part of the install
asides that, i'd unplug the battery so the SRS doesnt decide to explode on you.
asides that, it should be fairly straight forward

You need to disconnect the battery for at least 3 minutes before attempting to disconnect the airbag.
Once you have the airbag off, you will see the cable reel below the plate for the horn. A helms would come in really handy
To prevent the SRS light from coming on, do not power up the car with the airbag disconnected. Ensure that your install is complete before reconnecting the battery!

I think Marc's shop should have everything ready
There are two yellow taps, which one is it? I guess I can tell after I take off the usdm one?
What about that little red one coming out from the steering?

The red one is for the horn, you will be able to figure out the rest of the wiring once you unbolt the airbag. Did you get the JDM cable reel?

Short yellow to the airbag in the steering wheel. The long one to the harness underneath the dash (which is a bitch and a half to get to).
No idea about the red connector but it's probably horn related.

Thanks, it was a snap to install
...of course, by the lightening quick techniques of WhosITR. It was done in less than 30 minutes. The only task I had was pluging in the SRS since if anyone's gonna die, it's gonna be me.
I put on my race helmet and plugged it in and started the car, all went smooth. Signal cancellation, wheel alignment was all done perfectly. The only thing is the SRS light went on. I erased the DTS memory the next day with a tigHt paper clip
Marc: Post them pics y0!

Wow someone used a picture of mine.
I have never reset the SRS system. How hard is it to do?
to me for turning on the key with the airbag unplugged.
Edit: I see the thread where is shows how to reset it. Did you need to break the tabs off the cable reel?

I just unplugged the P2<?> switch and yank my paper clip in and follow the instructions. For some reason, that JDM wheels does not need to break of the cable reel, it's good to go from the beginning.

actaully i removed the cable reel and was almost about to remove the turn signal clickers because i was trying to get to something else. so in the process of removing everything if u dont align the reel the right way it can brake, i hear its sooo easy. i just know i put everything back as it was. but i guess i overlooked the reel part. ima pick one up at the junkyard tomorrow and see from there. if my horn dont work then its def the reel. but my horn isnt plugged up..

I think...my jdm wheels fits in the USDM centering perfectly for signal cancellation....maybe mine is actually a UKDM?

Yours is JDM because your pic of hub's cable reel 2 pin position is at 9 and 3'oclock position. I remember while back, I took my USDM wheel office to install JDM wheel and found out the USDM cable reel position 2 pin is at 10 and 4 o'clock position with a white lable arrowed at 12'clock warning. I gave up in installing worring about misalignment of cable reel.
