Default Axle doesn't want to go into hub?

Ok...so as most of you know my driver's side axle was stuck in my old hubs. I got a 5 ton puller and was able to pull it out with little problems. Nothing was damaged...it is just an old car and with a little rust, it got stuck in there.

Now...I am swaping del sol Si brakes on my del sol S. The axle is having a hard time going into the new hub assembly. I checked for obstructions, and everything looks fine. I lined the teeth up and pushed as hard as I could, and it just didn't want to slide in. I even tried hammering. It doesn't want to go in! I thought maybe the axle's teeth could have been fucked up, but I was able to slide it in two other hubs I had laying around with NO problems.

Any suggestions on getting this axle in? I'm thinking if I pull the hub back off the car and work on getting the axle in it OFF the car, then bolting everything up. Any tips? FYI...the teeth look FINE.

If it doesn't go in and it was THAT hard to get out, it's probably damaged. I wouldn't risk damaging the new hub... get a new axle.

The axle fits in OTHER hubs, so if anything the hub is damaged in one way or another. However...the hub looks fine to me...*shrug*

I need to spend more time on it.

Well I got the axle in the hub but due to the fact that I spent a few days beating on the end of it with a hammer to get it out of the OLD hub...it looks like I damaged some of the threads. Is it worth it to die the threads or should I just buy a new axle?
